West Virginia is located in the Mid-Atlantic area of the United States and is the 41st largest state in the Nation by area. It is nicknamed the “Mountain State.”

The state’s total population is around 1,812,035 which make it the 37th most populated state in the nation. Its demographics are as follows; 95.99% Caucasian; 3.56% African American; 0.56% American Indian; 0.69% Asian American; 0.05% Mixed. West Virginias largest city is Charleston with a population of 53,421. Charleston is followed by Huntington with 51,475 and then Parkersburg with 33,099.

West Virginia has a humid subtropical climate with temperatures in the winter ranging from 18-43 degrees and in the peak summer months ranging from 58-85 degrees. The state has some of the highest levels of precipitation in the nation with the city of Snowshoe averaging 200 days annually with snow or rain.
