Spring, Texas, is a census designated place (CDP) and unincorporated community located in the extraterritorial jurisdiction of Houston. It has an estimated population of 36,385 according to a 2000 census. The CDP is roughly 24 square miles, with .04 square miles of water.
According to the 2000 census, there were 12,302 housholds and 9,829 families residing in the CDP. The racial makeup of the area included White, African American, Native American, Asian, Pacific Island, Hispanic as well as several others. The median household income is $56,662 and the median familiy income is $60,934.
The Spring Independent School District covers all areas within the Spring CDP, and are zoned to Spring High School. Residents with Spring adresses outside of the CDP can attend Spring Independent School District schools, or high schools closer to their resident address. There are also many private schools in the area with large student population.
