Fort Worth, located in northern Texas, is the fifth-largest city in the state and the 17th largest city in the country. According to a 2007 census, Fort Worth was estimated to have a population of 681,818. The city is made up of 298.9 square miles.Because Fort Worth is such a big city, it is divided into different sections. Downtown Forth Worth, a popular area, has several art deco style buildings. The entertainment center for the city, Sundance Square, is located downtown and contains many restaurants, theatres, and art galleries. Fort Worth Stockyards Historic District is immersed in Fort Worth’s history and has daily cattle drives through the city streets. The Cultural district is composed of many museums, and the Parks district attracts several visitors who are interested in seeing the Fort Worth Zoo, Fort Worth Botanic Garden, and Fort Worth Japanese Garden.For recreation, Forth Worth is home to several theatres and museums. Casa Manana, Jubilee Theater, Circle Theatre, and Hip Pocket Theatre are some of the most notable theatres in the city. Kimbell, Amon Carter, Texas Cowgirl, and Modern are names of museums. To get around Fort Worth, travelers have access to railways, buses, and trolleys. There are also four airports for domestic and international travel.
