Corpus Christi is a city located in southern Texas. According to a 2006 census, the city had a population of 285,175 people, and its metropolitan area contained 431,741 people. Corpus Christi is composed of 460.2 square miles. Various sections of the city have their own identity which is a result of different demographic groups and sub-cultures. The Corpus Christi Transportation Authority provides public transportation with its 28 bus routes.Since the city is adjacent to Corpus Christi Bay, the Gulf of Mexico, and Laguna Madre, different types of outdoor recreational activities are available to all of Corpus Christi’s residents.
