Its demographics are as follows; 88.5% Caucasian; 0.7% African American; 8.8% American Indian; 0.7% Asian American; 2.1% Mixed. The economy for this state is based upon retail, finance, health care, cattle, corn and meat packaging to name a few. South Carolina’s gross state product is estimated at $32.3 billion with a per capita income of $26,894 ranking it 37th in the U.S.
South Dakota’s largest city is Sioux Falls with a total population of about 151,505. The next three largest cities are Rapid City with 63,997; Aberdeen 24,410 and Watertown with 20,530.
South Dakota has a continental climate with temperatures ranging from the lowest of 1 degree during the winter months to the highest at 86 degrees during the peak of summer. The Eastern part of the state resides in Tornado Alley and during the Summer months the entire state suffers from major thunderstorms with high winds and hail.
