St. Louis is primarily the largest metropolitan area in the state and is estimated to be the 16th largest city in the U.S. Kansas City is rated to be the 27th largest metropolitan area and is the largest city in the state. A few of the other large metropolitan areas are Independence, Lee’s Summit, Blue Springs, Raytown, Liberty and Gladstone.
The political bellwether state of Missouri has a humid continental climate. This form of climate brings hot/ humid summers and cold winters with temperatures averaging about 90 degrees midsummer and 36 degrees mid winter.
