Indianapolis is also called the “Circle City,” located in Indiana and is the 13th largest city in the United States.
The city has an estimated population of 795,458 people all within an area of 372 square miles. Indianapolis has a climate which is normally sunny, dry and cool humid continental climate with summers being hot and humid, highs in the 90’s and winter running cool to cold with temps falling to near -18 degrees. The demographics for Indianapolis are; 69.1% Caucasian; 25.50% African American; 0.25% Native American; 1.43% Asian; 2.04% Mixed.
The city is split into several cultural districts and distinct neighborhoods. Some counties in the area of Indianapolis have seen moderate growth recently. Hamilton, Hendricks and Johnson are a few of those counties showing growth potential.
The city of Indianapolis prides itself on having a rich cultural heritage. When visiting any of the six cultural districts; Broad Ripple Village, Massachusetts Avenue, Fountain Square, The Wholesale District, Cabnal and White River State Park and Indiana Avenue, the rich culture of the city can plainly be seen. Indianapolis is also home to the Indianapolis Colts football team and the Indiana Pacers Basketball team.
