
Idaho is also known as “The Spud State” and it is located in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. In the summer months temperatures run from 51-89 degrees while in the winter they are from 16-39 degrees.
The state has a population of about 1,499,402 and is the 39th largest population in the US. The demographics for Idaho are; 96.81% Caucasian; 0.84% African American; 2.05% Native American; 1.48% Asian.
The economy is driven primarily by lumber and wood products, food processing and mining with a total gross output for the state at about $43.6 billion. The state’s personal income tax rate ranges from 1.6% to 7.8% with sales tax at about 6%. Some of the larger companies located in Idaho are; Hewlett-Packard, AMI Semiconductors and Anheuser-Busch.
Some of the largest cities located in Idaho are; Boise, which is the state capital, Idaho Falls, Nampa and Meridian.
Idaho has a large number of national parks, recreational areas and wildlife refuges. The City of Rocks national Reserve, Craters of the Moon National Monument, Hells Canyon National Recreation Area, Bear Lake National Wildlife Refuge and The Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge are all located within the state.
