Tallahassee resides in Leon County Florida. It is the capital of Florida and home to Florida State University. In the summer, temperatures range from 73-92 degrees and in the winter they range from 40-64 degrees.
The city has a population of about 159,012 in a 98.2 square mile area. The demographics for Tallahassee are; 60.42% Caucasian; 34.24% African American; 0.25% Native American; 2.40% Asian; 0.97% Mixed.
The economy for Stockton is driven primarily by trade and agriculture and it is the regional center for both. The area has one of the fastest growing manufacturing and high tech areas in the state with major employers such as General Dynamics, Land Systems and Figg Engineering Group calling the area home.
The growth of the urban center and the Capitol Center has lead to new planning and designs to deal with estimated growth over the next 25 years. There was a projected need for 213,677 square feet of new government facilities, 3500 dwellings, new open areas and retail and private office space. All of these elements have been incorporated into a new plan for the expansion of the downtown area.
There are a number of festivals held each year in Tallahassee, a few of these being a Greek Food Festival, Springtime Tallahassee and the Southern Shakespeare Festival.
