Littleton is located in Arapahoe County and it is a suburb of the Denver-Aurora area.
The city has a population of about 40,340 in a 13.9 square mile area. The demographics for Littleton are; 91.7% Caucasian; 1.16% African American; 0.73% Native American; 1.66% Asian; 2.67 % Mixed. 23.3% of the city’s population is under the age of 18; 47.3% of the population is families with a median age of 39. The median income is about $50,583 with a family median income of about $64,671.
The Colorado Center for the Blind is located within the Littleton City Limits as well as the Intelligent Vehicle Safety Technologies “Desert Tortoise” which is a competitor in the DARPA Grand Challenge.
Littleton is found on the south side of Denver on the West side of I-25.
Littleton has a couple of cultural locations such as the Hudson Gardens, a 30 acre non-profit botanical garden which began back in 1941 as a private garden; a Town Hall Arts Center which provides professional theatrical performances for the surrounding area and the Littleton Historical Museum.
