Public transportation is Denver is managed by the Regional Transportation District (RTD). This organization oversees more than 1,000 buses serving over 10,000 bus stops in 38 municipal jurisdictions. RTD is also in charge of six light rail lines which are served by Amtrak.
The public school system in Denver is Denver Public Schools (DPS). This system teaches over 70,000 students in its 73 elementary schools, 17 middle schools, 15 K-8 schools, 14 high schools, and 19 charter schools. There are several colleges in Denver including the University of Denver and Johnson & Wales University.
For fun and entertainment, residents can visit the Ellie Caulkins Opera House and the Denver Art Museum. There are also several festival throughout the year including the Dragon Boat Festival in July and Moon Festival in September.
