There is an historic mission called Mission San Xavier del Bac located just 10 miles South of the city. The Art Museum located at the University of Arizona has works by Franz Kline and Jackson Pollock. There are also a number of theaters that hold performances throughout the year and the Tucson Symphony Orchestra which was founded in 1929.
